Quick Shop Stop!

So I'm checking in once more. I've got a gallery showing tomorrow (woot!) and I'll be posting more images from that and other things soon after!

Also the jewelry making is going ok, I'm still trying to get the resin stuff to work out correctly, but I think I'm getting there.

Hello to the world!

Just checking in, making sure that everyone knows that my blog as not undergone an hiatus! The photoshoot was a success, in my opinion, I went for very vivid saturated colour images as her set was full of all sorts of reds and warm hot colours. Sadly I won't be able to let you see any of the images, other than this totally unrelated to her one:

Though if they are chosen to be a set on Suicide Girls, you will be among the first to know!! In other news, I've been trying something new, because I have a great deal of extra stock from my adventures in Student Summer Company I've been trying to think of an innovative way to actually sell them, even though past experience has shown me that they don't really sell all that successfully. Well I think I may have found my solution! I'm making them into jewelry! I'm going to try to make about 50 of them, which shouldn't send me to the poor house, and see if/how well they sell. They will be available in the upcoming weeks on Etsy, but I'll be selling them at craft shows and in a few different local shops as well. Here's a preview, and they won't all look like this, each one is unique and above that, this is a alpha test model. I'll show you more once I get into beta's and the real ones.

Since, for some reason which I haven't figured out how to fix yet, I can't receive comments on my blog, let me know what you think at arekayelle@gmail.com!

This has been a year of firsts, I now own my own business, my art will be in a gallery soon, I have just been booked to do the photography for a big event (Shudder - this one really scares me!), and I have just, and I mean just, also been booked to do the photography for a new-to-be Suicide Girl! This is my first jump into the realm of adult photography, but oddly enough it works because it was always something I wanted to try and get into. However there are a lot of safety issues with this sort of photography and up until this point I haven't had any means of acutally attempting it in a situation I knew would make me feel safe enough to try it.

Though now I have the chance, and eventually my work will be found on a website full of photographers who do this for an actual living (by that I mean they actually live off of the proceeds!) Who knows, maybe this will open up afew more doors, or at least a window for me :-)

(Since I don't have any photography yet that really fits in a post such as this, I'll use some of my older photographs that kinda work!)

Photo of the day.

These images are again from Niagara and I took them in one of the Wax museums there, I didn't take my time with too many pictures, just having fun as I went... but these two were so tempting that I made sure I timed everything right, forced various other tourists out of the room and set up my tripod to ensure the best possible photographs!!

HDR attempts!

So for pretty much this entire summer I've been trying very hard to get the HDR process down pat, and recently I think I may have figured it out. Over the last few days I went to Niagara Falls, and it was the perfect opportunity to get some experience trying out HDR. While I'm still not quite 100% on the process, I've managed to get one image done pretty well for a first attempt! (In my opinion anyway!)

Here's my first try and the original image just below it. Also for the curious, I'll be putting up more HDR images, and images in general from my trip to Niagara for viewing and purchasing purposes on my Deviantart page: http://rklprints.deviantart.com/ Come take a peek!

Photo of the Day

This is yet another photo of the day, in my efforts to make this a real photoblog! Anyway, while this image is from yesterday, I have a few new ones from today which will be posted shortly! I just have to get back to where I can actually upload the images first ;-)

There were probably at least two dozen ducks hanging out by the park yesterday, and while they were pretty skittish about me getting too close I was able to make it within few feet of them in order to get a few shots in. There isn't too much colour on these fine fellas but I've been trying to get an HDR image to work and that should really make the colour pop.

I'll let you know how it goes.
